there's been a little addition to my family - a new pet! he only stayed a couple of days, but i think he's one of the strangest pets for anyone to own. we found this adorable little koala in a gum tree outside our house a few days ago. he'd been relaxing and sleeping on this branch when we found him.
since it was such a hot day, our mum decided to fill a bucket of water for him to drink if he came down from his comfortable position. and he did! in fact, i got some video footage of him climbing down the tree and drinking the water we left for him~
he spent two whole days up in the gum tree, relaxing or sleeping and sometimes coming down for a drink or to relax in the bushes under our tree. it was really sad to seem him gone this morning when we eagerly checked on him. but we have left the water there under the tree in case he decides to ever return and pay us a visit! ps. we get a lot of wildlife like koalas, echidnas and even snakes around our house since we live nearby to the hills and wildlife areas. these australian animals are much more rarely found in the CBD!
That's so cool! I actually hope to live somewhere where I can get wildlife in my backyard one day (except for deer)!
